Even A Goddess Needs to Moisturize

As hormone levels plummet with the onset of menopause, skin becomes dry, slack, and thin. If you’ve spent time in the sun in your youth, you’re sure to be seeing the effects now in the form of age spots, dark areas, skin cancer or pre-cancerous skin growths.

Dryness coupled with the cessation of collagen production are the villains behind sagging skin, fine lines, and wrinkles.

While there is no magic formula to reverse all the signs of sun damage, aging and hormonal changes, there are things we can do to make our skin look and feel healthy and glowing.

Your first priority should be to protect your skin with sunscreen. Apply at least SPF 30 every day to all the skin that won’t be covered by clothing.

To help with the dry skin issues that come with menopause, wash with a mild cleanser like Cetaphil, rather than soap, apply your moisturizer right after bathing for maximum effect, and reapply throughout the day when your skin feels dry. Remember, wrinkles are more obvious when your skin is dry!

Properly hydrated skin is the key to clear, even skin tone. While nothing short of Botox or surgery can completely eliminate wrinkles, you can help diminish the appearance of fine lines and slow the formation of new ones. You may have wrinkles, but dewy, radiant skin will help you look and feel youthful and sexy!

There are literally thousands of skincare products on the market, and finding the best one for you can be a tough task. Use what works for you, and don’t be afraid to try something new if your current lotions and creams aren’t doing the trick.

My own formulas are now available online! Called EverMind, all of my lotions, creams and serums harness the power of oil from the Baobab Tree, known as the Tree of Life.

This oil is rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids and is packed with antioxidants. Combined with vitamin C, E, and skin loving essential oils, all of my products are quick absorbing, ultra-moisturizing and extremely nourishing for your skin. EverMind is cruelty free, dye free, synthetic fragrance free, paraben free, and I use only the most natural ingredients available.
